i was voting in the
hposcars (vote
here) and, ok, i've read approximately 0% of the fic nominated, which might have something to do with the fact that i was only sporadically fannish last year, but still, how does that happen? but i voted for all the art, cos i could easily judge that, and omg. oh. my. god. people.
Letter to a dead man by
nassima is just. ::flails:: it's a three part comic and i cried a little bit for each part. oh oh oh. like i explained to aj saturday night during a discussion of rent: i can deal with people dying, but i absolutely, 100% of the time lose it if other people talk about people who have died.

book meme!
The Museum, Libraries and Arts Council's list of 30 Books Every Adult Should Have Read. Bold the ones you have read. Italicize the ones you would like to read. Strike out the ones you never plan to read, or started but couldn't finish:
(i left the ones i had never heard of alone.)
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee - one of my favorites. currently rereading it, actually.
The Bible - i've read a few parts, but really, not that interested.
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by JRR Tolkien - i'm proud of myself for actually having read this whole thing, considering what my attention span is.
1984 by George Orwell - i am technically halfway through this, but then i got bored. but i do intend to finish it!
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens - i read about half. i loathe dickens. watching the play is much more entertaining.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte - never again, man. not even to, i don't know, co-write a rock opera. *G*
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
All Quite on the Western Front by E M Remarque - i watched part of the movie once though. does that count?
His Dark Materials Trilogy by Phillip Pullman - lovelovelove.
Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks
The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck - i loathe steinbeck too.
The Lord of the Flies by William Golding
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon
Tess of the D'urbevilles by Thomas Hardy
Winnie the Pooh by AA Milne
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Graham
Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell - i'm not even willing to watch the movie.
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens - see above re: dickens.
The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold - i loved this. i have to remember to pick it up for melissa when i go home this weekend.
The Prophet by Khalil Gibran
David Copperfield by Charles Dickens
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
Middlemarch by George Eliot
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzenhitsyn
i feel horribly not well-read now. hm.

oh, and
omg. good episode! lynn's still a dumbass, i heart tony and curtis SO MUCH. and maybe even bill. and audrey, a little bit, shut up. ahaha, as soon as spawn and the dude walked in, i totally called him being her therapist. he was in syriana! he was the prince i liked! how exciting.
kiefer was looking good, mmhmm. uh. i totally laughed when edgar died. is that wrong? it was his own fault for being a dumbass, *and* he's not a very good actor. also? how does ctu not like, have gas masks somewhere convenient? for serious. i mean, some of the offices can be sealed up tight, but...they don't keep a box of gas masks lying around? also, how much does it suck to be carrie? bet she wishes she had stayed fired.
oh, and logan is still a gigantic asshole and i wish someone would freaking kill him already. and i heart aaron.
my prediction for next week: tony will die and i will cry. :/
