Tell me about it! I'm struggling to get away from a job where I am criminally underpaid, but as I was unemployed in an depressed area, I didn't have a whole lot of choice. And now it's gotten even worse.
I'd also like to point out that if you are unemployed and qualify for food stamps and then get a really shitty job, it's possible for you to no longer be eligible for food stamps while also having to pay for child care, bus fare/gas, dry cleaning costs etc associated with a new job. In other words, it's possible to be less financially stable while working. And should you lose that job, you have to apply for food stamps all over again, and how likely are you to have money in the bank to cover groceries until you get benefits again

As one who makes a mere fraction of what I used to and now has a resume that isn't worth a crap as a result (and the result of opting to be a stay-at-home mom for a few years) and as one who has no time to put toward finding better employment but tries to make time anyway... while completely exhausted and not at all on my best game, a-freaking-men.
