That went badly ...
I take Mirapex for my RLS and it works well, except for the side effects … insomnia, low libido, difficult to achieve orgasm, and stiff muscles. I finally had had enough and talked to my doc about the choices:
1 - go back to Sinemet
2 - Horizant - non formulary so I’ll need a written script to take to Canada
3 - Requip which is similar to Mirapex.
The doc said no to 1, skipped 2 and said yes to 3 on the thought that it might work with less side effects.
So I began my trial of Requip yesterday morning with a half a tablet. The morning was good. I worked out in the garden … more on that in another post. When I went to take a rest at 3pm I noticed the dry mouth was much worse and I had a buzzing in my legs … indicating RLS. In hindsight I should stopped right then and there and went back to Mirapex at dinner, but I took the Requip.
When I went to bed ... my legs were painful. I didn't let
that go far. At 11:30pm I got up and took a half a tab of Mirapex. With RLS you feel it mostly when at rest. So out to the shed I went. If I was on my feet, my legs wouldn't be painful until the Mirapex kicked in. Two hours later I came and laid out in the lounge chair. Just as I was dozing off some bozo a street or two over shot off his gun several times. I took that as a cue to go to bed to sleep. In the end I got about 2.5 hours sleep. I'll take several naps today ...
I’ll send my doc a message, now we’ll see if he will give me a script to take to Canada, well not physically, Canadian Pharmacies take faxes and emails, and order the meds from India.
