Vegan Las Vegas

I am researching options for places I can eat in Las Vegas. There isn't a whole lot of choice. However, there is apparently a DONUT STORE which is entirely vegetarian and 70% of items are vegan. WE MUST GO THERE!!!

Can't help with restaurants (not American, not going to APC16 (wah!)), but can help with miles.

One mile = 1.6km.

Enjoy Vegas! Wish I could be there.

*lol* I know that! Technically, we still use miles in the UK - all speed signs are in miles per hour, not km per hour.

My problem is in understanding how a "mile" relates to a distance that I can walk - or not, as the case may be. And it's made harder by the North American insistence on burning fossil fuels to transport healthy people small distances. I know how to read the scales on maps, but they don't mean anything to me, because I don't "understand" how big a unit of measurement is in practical terms.

I find it easier with km because they're smaller, but I still don't really understand how far a kilometre is.

At home, it's easy - I look in the A-Z of London for a distance that I know (e.g. from my house to Kingston station), and relate this to the distance I need to walk to figure out if it's walkable or not.

We will have a car.

And I think that I can speak for tiger_spot when I say, "YES THIS VEGETARIAN DONUT SHOP MUST BE TRIED YES YES!"

Or, well, something like that. Maybe I'm overestimating her enthusiasm slightly; I don't actually know whether most donuts are vegetarian or not. (I had thought they were, but....)
