[A dead frequency sparks back to life - at first there's nothing but static, interspersed by the scraping of heavy shoes against concrete as the owner slowly pushes himself up to sitting. [The post starts with a clatter as the communicator skids across the floor - someone apparently tried to get a hold of it but only managed to smack it even further away, activating the voice function in the process. Not that he knows and by now it's well out of both his reach and field of vision. ]
