For those of you once in the Harry Potter online fandom who know about an interview J.K. Rowling did with Emma Watson who played Hermoine there’s excitement. OOOOOOH, Rowling is sorry she matched Ron and Hermoine.
No, that isn’t what she said. Here’s what she said:
http://www.hypable.com/2014/02/07/jk-rowling-ron-hermione-interview/ So what it comes to is this; either way would’ve been a decent match. Perhaps Ron and Hermoine would be alright with a bit of counseling. On to other matters.
Why’d she say this? She’s talking to Emma whose entrée into the business of show came from, duh, playing Hermoine. What were they going to discuss, why Emma’s magazine covers look so good?
Now here comes my take; it still doesn’t damn matter. Because….drum roll….
The. Romances. Were. NEVER. The. Central. Point. Of. The. Stories.
I’ve discovered that half the people at major news outlets can’t read worth a damn. CNN, that isn’t what Rowling said. TIME magazine, ditto.
What I’ve also discovered, sadly not to my surprise, is that stupid and shallow still rules the fandom. Shallow. I said stupid and shallow as in your IQ could only be measured by a supremely expensive and accurate micrometer.
You love who you love and sometimes you look at someone else even while in love and go ‘mmmhmmm’. If you’re a grown up that’s all of it. The attractive will always be with us though they are damn hard to find at 2 a.m. on a Saturday morning. You don’t blow your life up for ‘mmmhmmm’. That’s stupid.
Shipping was I thought meant to be a bit of fun. Playing with the characters a bit. That’s it.
So for those who are still majorly obsessed with who hooked up with whom in the Harry Potter books as opposed to, oh, let’s say good and evil, right and wrong and growing up to be a decent person…y’all are stupid. Stupid, shallow and ever so boring.
Everybody pissed off now? Good. My work here is done.
