Could Jesus just be Hercules?

I've lately been researching my antipathies on the Christian religion, and I found this article. Very interesting stuff. The author talks about the absence of any records from the life of Christ, that the only information pops up hundreds of years after his death. Kinda funny how if the guy was performing all these miracles, and people from across the land were traveling to see him, that no one wrote anything down about it.

He also parallels the myth of Hercules, and how is almost a complete mirror to the supposed life of Christ. Both guys were the sons of gods (Zeus / God), born from virgin mothers. Both also had a monarch out to get them. And they both lived and went around helping folks. I actually prefer Hercules, if I was a son of a god i'd do really cool things like hold up the heavens and slay Hydra too. But thats just me.

Pretty disturbing when you think about all the actions in the past by the Christian religion, and how it could all be based on something some guys mis-interpreted intentionally or unintentionally thousands of years ago. Plus the actions of our government being based off of a Christian religion with so many inconsistencies, is really even more frightening.
