Prompt: Hell

Feb 07, 2010 18:04

One of the threads in my current 1sentence challenge (because I like trying to link the prompts in a story that isn't quite a story) involves another one of Bill's experiments going wrong, resulting in him merging with 'M... which in turn causes the legendaries to flip a shit because 'M was supposed to be erased from existence because, as an entity that was created as a side effect of the creation of the world, it was threatening to undo reality. (Read: Basically, an in-the-universe explanation for what happens when you screw around with Missingno glitches, leading to the rumor that it could erase your save file.) Lanette, of course, tried to defend him by doing the equivalent of punching out Cthulhu, but so far, what happened after that isn't detailed in the prompt set.

That's because I deleted the original sentence for Hell and replaced it with something a bit more descriptive and actually hellish.

The new Hell prompt will be released with the rest of the sentences. The original was something like this, paraphrased because I don't actually have the real thing anymore:

As a punishment for raping the laws of reality, the legendaries sentenced Bill to spend the rest of eternity in Distortion World as a servant of Giratina; what made this Hell for him was not the fact that he was stuck as a half-pokémon trapped in a desolate, lonely world that would have made M.C. Escher weep for joy... it was the fact that he'd be separated from Lanette forever.

And for some reason, I want to write one-shots about his time serving under Giratina (with Cyrus, naturally), what Lanette does in the real world as a result (Suicide? Moving on but constantly haunted by her failure to protect her friend? Something else?), the concept of sin, and a whole lot of other things.

But I really shouldn't because I keep saying I'll write this fic or that, and it never happens. And I need to focus on AEM.
