Con: Sithcat just arrived for a 2 week stay. It rained like hell last night (tornado nearby) and my chimney leaked again. Didn't sleep much (tornado nearby) so I'm headachy and tired. We may have another round of bad weather tonight.

Con wins today. Bleah.

Looooots of rain last night and overnight. One place says 2+ inches, another says 5+". Went to the parents' picnic for Kiwanis which got rained out. I stayed to help clean up and got hosed. When I got home, the only dry place on me was the back left pocket of my jeans. Little bit of hail and 60+ mph winds, lots of lightning, but mostly rain. ( Read more... )

Spring has definitely sprung! Along my drive to work, all the flowering trees have popped--pears, crabapples, and the beautiful magnolias that survived the wind over the weekend. Freezing drizzle this morning turned the roads into sheet ice, and caused the scariest ride of my life. A trip from the gym to my house that normally takes 10 minutes took 50...I was thanking my dad for my new tires for Xmas all the way home while I watched cars and vans spinning out and trying to go up the hills and sliding back down. 6" of rain last night. The SW corner of my basement is flooded and water was coming in this AM pretty quickly when another stinking squall line overloaded my gutters. So the Weather Channel is chasing tornadoes today not real far from Huskerville. It's quiet now, but earlier...well, here in the city we got off pretty easy, some hail, some power out, the east side got a lot of water.
