I played football with my son on Friday. Starting Saturday I started to feel very sore. I ended up taking around 9 Advil that day before switching to liquid Vicaden that was left over from a previous surgery. Sunday it was worse. I had a few people recommend that I go to the hospital, but I was feeling too ridiculous to go to the hospital with pulled muscles. "Ms Cole, you are too old to be acting like that. What did you think would happen"? I figured I could save myself the $350 and just tell myself that.
Around 3:30 on Sunday, I decided that a trip to the emergency room might be a good idea after all. I had a little episode of dry heaving and was worried that if this wasn't my stomach, it would be by the time I was done taking all of the Advil. They worked me over in the ER. I was there for about 5 hours and all they found was a strange calcification in my pelvic region on the right side. The rest of my symptoms didn't support kidney stones, so they didn't think that was what I had going on. The cat scan apparently doesn't show ulcers, just leaks or kidney stones and probably those keys that I lost and never found. So I get to be scoped on Friday. It is out patient, but they knock me out and snake a camera down my throat. My sweetie is taking off work to take me. I have a feeling that it is all related to my stomach, because after taking my ulcer medicine, I was magically cured. This of course happened in the ER. I leave the house in too much pain to drive and two hours into the ER, I am knitting (I hadn't been able to knit or read, just sit and grimace for two days) and ravenously hungry. I rated my pain at an 8 during the worst part, a 6 when I first got to the ER and I was fine around 2 hours after being there. They even asked if I needed anything for the pain and in good conscience I couldn't accept.
Hope everyone else had a good weekend. I might be out of contact for a little bit Fri through Monday, but I will try to hop on to at least let you all know that I am alive and as mean as ever.
Have a super day!
