Well this weekend I've got something exciting to post about!! I've had a fantastic weekend. It started on Thursday when I went up to Binningup to stay overnight with
simple_graces at her friends' holiday house. I wasn't going to work on Friday 'cause I had a wedding to go to in Perth that day. Anyway we watched all 6 hours of the BBC Pride and Prejudice which I hadn't seen before. SG has seen it twice before and she was quoting it as we went along, lol. It was sooooooooooo good! We were armed with chips, chocolate, lollies and Connosieur (sp?) ice cream. Yuuuum. P & P finished around 12am and we spent the next hour chatting and tidying up the house. We then stayed in the lounge room, SG on a pull out sofa and me on a mattress. We ended up talking until 3:30am before falling asleep. I was awake for a total of 21 hours on Thursday. Eeek!
Friday morning we took a while to get up, tidied the house and left. We drove up to Perth in convoy and went to her house for a while before meeting
lil_tinkerbelle for lunch at Nandos. Yummmm! Then I headed straight to the wedding which was in Fremantle in a beautiful Catholic church. It was my friend Maya, from uni's wedding The wedding was really nice and her dress was so beautiful I loved it more than my own, lol. When it was over we froze on the front steps after going through the receiving line. The poor bridesmaids had goose bumps all over their shoulders. It was pouring with rain and blowing a gale the whole day. I had a short sleeved top, cardigan and pants on and was freezing. But I had brought my long coat for the reception which was great because it kept me nice and warm
Between the reception and the wedding I went to Chris's parents house to drop off all our stuff. Chris had to work on Friday so he couldn't come to the wedding and was coming up on the bus Fri evening, so I took his clothes and everything and he just hopped on the bus. The reception was at Caversham house and I got there and it was beautifully decorated. It was such a good evening. There was a quartet and a DJ and the food came in 6 courses!! Very nice evening. I got home and got into bed by about 1am - another long day. 16 hours this time.
Saturday I was glad to sleep in a bit and after we woke up, Chris and I went to visit his grandparents. We stayed there about an hour or so and then headed to Whitfords so Chris could look at JB HiFi which he does every time we're in Perth. We left there pretty soon afterwards to go to visit my parents at their new house for the first time (they moved last Monday). But we made a stop off at Nandos on the way and got them and ourselves some lunch. They have moved to Woop Woop...lol. No really their suburb is like at the same latitude as Clarkson (very far north in Perth) but further east. Right near the Great Northern Highway that takes you towards Mount Magnet etc. In fact I used to go past their house on the way back from Northampton when I came to Perth to visit and I used to think it'd be scary to live in one of those houses because they are opposite huge pine forests... well those pine forests are being cut down now, so it won't be scary anymore :)
The house was really nice and they're both really happy with it, so that was great to see. After we'd spent a few hours there we went back to Chris's parents house and I went to
bethaniej 's house for Girls Night In with her,
moof_mum and
sezzie. Beth's housemate came home and joined us as well and we had a great time laughing and talking and eating lots of yummy food like Beth's home made sausage rolls, spinach and ricotta rolls and cheese sticks; moof_mum's lovely mini-quiches (private joke) -cheesecakes, sezzie's cheese and crackers and the lollies I brought. In fact I felt really sick from eating so much when I got home. But it was a great night :)
That was last night. I got home at about 12:30 and into bed by 1 again so ANOTHER long day. As a result I have been absolutely stuffed today. But that's not all! After sleeping in, Chris and I got ready, packed a picnic and headed for the city to see... Cirque du Soleil!! We ate our sandwiches and scones on the foreshore and then met
moof_mum and her husband and went in together. It was absolutely amazing. If you ever have the chance to go, DO. It's worth it. We had seats right in the back row at the top, the cheapest tickets and we could still see everything really well. Those people are incredible what they can do witih their bodies dangling metres up in mid-air. I have complete admiration for them and all the training they must have put in. That takes guts and commitment.
After that fantastic show, Chris and I wandered around Perth, looked in JB and had some coffee at Miss Maud's. We didn't end up leaving for Bunbury until 5. Now we're knackered and it's bedtime. Goodnight everyone! ZZZzzzzzz.......
