A couple nights ago I had a dream where I was living in the Star Wars universe. I was apparently working for The Empire, though I have no idea what my exact position was. I had a pretty nice apartment which, I believe, was on the Death Star. Anyway, I was throwing a little get together. You know, just having a little downtime with the coworkers. Darth Vader was there, I think he may have been drinking punch. The last thing that happened in the dream was Emperor Palpatine showing up, holding a bowl in his had and saying, "I brought the dip."
I was almost giggling as I showered that morning. I've been thinking though, that even the most evil of bad guys has to have some downtime, some "normal" moments. At some point every day Dr Doom must sit on the toilet and read some magazine, or at least some ancient tome of some sort. While no movie will ever show it, Emperor Palpatine must sometimes sit down to his favorite desert, and an oddly innocent smle must cross his face as he anticipates that first tasty bite.
No, we'll probably never see those images, and I'm not sure we'd really want to, but it's funny to know that in the reality of the worlds those villains live in, they must take place.
