progress? or at least a start
So I think I might have something that I could use to make the corset for the travel gown. I'm going to use an 18th century pair of stays, since I think that would give the best flat front silhouette. I also want to use properly boned underwear since I want to get a really snug fit of the bodice, and I am a lot curvier than Natalie Portman was as a teenager.
I printed this pattern. The problem was that I couldn't get it to print in a decent scale, so the front and back ended up different sizes. I've been playing around with some muslin now, and as far as I can tell it could work. As usual with boned underwear it's hard to tell until you actually put the boning in. I also wish that I had a dressform, draping on yourself isn't the easiest thing to do. My original plan was that I hoped that TPM would come to 3D in the summer, and since I've said that the only thing on my wishlist for my 30th b-day is a proper dressform, I would have hoped to be able to use it for all the fittings. Well I guess I just have to make it work.
