As a follow-up of my last entry...Evan, despite a text reminder I sent, did not attend the elan concert.

thanksgiving break was good. i really don't have much to say about it is that i have this incredible feeling of change...current and future change...like the rest of my life is rushing at me and i'm just trying to catch my breath...
back at elon we've been thrust into a mad dash to the end of the semester...projects, papers, presentations, finals, juries...it's a lot to worry about, for sure.
monday night we had our flute ensemble gig at blakey hall (the nursing home down the street). it went really well...and there was a very unexpected twist to the end of the evening!...ms. cykert's boyfriend showed up!!! now, i don't want to spread rumors...but casey, lisa, jenna, and i agreed that we think they're dating! :P he came to dinner with us at mimi's cafe and he was so cool...and it just so happens that he's a business professor at elon! he's smart, funny, interesting, and pretty attractive for a man in his late 40's/early 50's. i really hope they stick together! *fingers crossed!*
tuesday night i went to the intervarsity & gospel choir's worship concert...and it was amazing! i sat (stood) with josh carswell and simply had an incredible time. sorry i'm so inarticulate...i just don't have the words to express how wonderful it felt to be there, singing along. :)
tonight was the elan concert and it went splendidly :) i was so so nervous and didn't feel too proud of my own solo performance, although everyone who spoke to me afterword was simply glowing with compliments and praise. it was exciting to make my vocal debut here, though! ...i think i gained a lot of respect from some people tonight...like people from the theater dept who were there (laura baker, alex hensley, vinnie, etc). everyone else sounded AMAZING...*sigh* i'm so sad that we're done with the songs cause i really had a blast singing them, especially with that group of singers!
tomorrow is my last morning at hawfields day care and i have the task of getting the kids ready for their performance on monday night at their parents' potluck dinner! ...then tomorrow evening i have the burlington boys choir gig from 5:45-8-ish...i'm hoping i can leave early so i can catch at least the end of sam's recital (which happens to be tomorrow night as well!). on the up side, i'll be getting a check! woohoo! my first real paid gig!! :)
here's to life,
