a/n 1: Uhmm..hello? We hope you still remember this fic. Sorry it took us months to update this fic, RL has been keeping us away from writing and posting this chapter. We haven't even replied to your comments on the previous chapter *bows*. But now that we finally have time to write and post, here it is, chapter 8.
Morning sunlight strikes through the window, waking him up from his deep slumber. Groaning and mumbling something incoherent because of the blinding sunlight, he rolls to his side to pull someone closer to him. But, his hand meet with an empty space. Opening his eyes lazily, he finds no one beside him.
Rubbing his eyes, then he wakes up and stretch his body. A smile spreads on his face when the aroma of his favorite coffee hits his nostril. He gets up and tidy up the bed before walking to the source of that alluring smell.
He’s greeted by a beautiful sight of a lady preparing breakfast when he reach the kitchen. Smiling, he tip toed towards the lady, as much as possible not making any sound. Then he sneaks to the lady’s back and wraps his hand around her slim waist.
He startles the lady, she shrieks but relaxing soon after she feels the familiarity of the hug.
“Jin!!” She scolds him. Clearly not amused by what Jin did.
“Why did you leave me alone on the bed?” Jin leans his head on her shoulder, tightening his hugs on the lady’s waist.
The lady only smiles, ignoring Jin’s whine. “Jin, I can’t prepare the breakfast properly if you keep hugging me like this,” she protests. Jin is stubborn so he keeps hugging her.
Then they’re startled by the sound of the bell clinging. A guest early in the morning? The lady frowns then turns her head to Jin, signaling him to check who come this early. Jin doesn’t care, he keeps hugging the lady.
“Please guys, don’t act all lovey-dovey in front of me. It’s still too early, spare me,” the unwanted guest chuckles and makes his way to the fridge near the couple.
“Shut up Koki! I don’t care! Go away if you don’t want to see us act lovey-dovey,” Jin counters while still hugging the lady. It looks like, he’s not going to release her anytime soon.
The lady rolls her eyes and slaps Jin’s head lightly, resulting a pouting Jin. He removes his hand from her waist and sits on the chair in front of the kitchen counter. Koki only chuckles seeing Jin’s childish act.
“Ne Kame-chan, did Jin snore in his sleep?” Koki asks the lady who’s pouring a coffee as he sits beside Jin. Kame only smiles at Koki’s question. Then she puts two cups of coffee and toast in front of those two men. She chuckles lightly when she notices that Jin still pouting.
Jin remembers how Kame asked him to sleep on the bed for the first time. She had been able to communicate better than before, yet she just gripped on Jin’s t-shirt tightly without uttering any word, head hanging low. Jin wasn’t able to understand what she wanted at that time, so he just sat on the bed, confused with her act.
Then he asked Kame if she needed something but she only shook her head then bit her lower lips. Palming her forehead, Jin wondered if Kame got a fever again. But her forehead didn’t feel warm, she was fine. Jin scratched his not-so-itchy head because he got confused by Kame who kept her grip on the rim of his T-shirt.
Jin gets drown in his own thought, remembering Kame’s cute face that day. Kame notices a daze look on his smiling face. Chuckling, she wonders what Jin’s thinking right now.
“Jin?” she calls his name, bringing him back to reality. “Do you want more scrambled egg?” she asks while smiling to him. Jin can be look that cute, she thinks.
“Mou Kame-chan~ why is it only Jin who gets more scrambled egg?” Koki protests.
Kame knows Koki is just teasing them so she put large portion of scrambled egg on Koki’s plate. “Do you want anything else for your breakfast?” then she asks Jin.
Koki keeps whining, “You give more attention to Jin than to me~” which earns him a glare from Kame.
“If you don’t stop whining, I’ll never let you eat my cooking ever again,” Kame scolds Koki. “Now finish your breakfast.” Koki goes silence in an instant and continues eating his breakfast.
Seeing the interaction between Koki and Kame makes Jin giggles. Compared to several months ago when she’s still in her depressed state, she’s been so much better now, she even dares to scold Koki. And Jin loves seeing her like that, more lively, not bounded with her baby doll and more importantly is that she’s not scared of talking to people anymore.

Kame hears Jin’s calling her name from the first floor. She’s answering from the second floor that she will come down soon then she ties her hair up in slanted ponytail because she knows that Jin loves seeing her hair tied up like that. They will go to the hospital today for Kame’s check up. She still needs to do check up and therapy at the hospital but not as much as before.
When Kame wants to take her bag on the bed, her eyes lands on her baby doll that is sitting nicely on the small table at the corner of their room. She hears Jin calls her name again. Then she smiles to the baby doll before grabbing the bag and run to the first floor where Jin’s been waiting for her to get ready.
Jin sighs, “What took you so long?”
But Kame only grins and teases him by grabbing her ponytail and waving it to Jin. He feels defeated so he just grabs her hand and held it before they walk together to Jin’s car, ignoring Koki who is whistling to tease the couple.
At the hospital, Jin is waiting outside the room where Kame is talking with her psychologist. It’s her sharing time so Jin is supposed not to listen to it.
“So how do you feel lately? Do you have any trouble?” The psychologist asks her.
“I’m good! I have no trouble at the moment, doctor.” She answers with a bright smile, showing that she’s happy and not having any problem.
The psychologist also smiles to her, “Are you sure? You’re being honest with me, right?” she asks again. “Don’t you feel bothered by not knowing anything about your past, especially about your family?”
Hearing that question, her mind wander to Jin. “If you were in my position, don’t you think you would do the same?” She says to the psychologist. “Rather than trying to find my family who don’t even try to find me, being with Jin like this is better. He’s been doing a lot of things for the sake of my recovery. He’s been through a lot of hard time to help me.”
“I couldn’t imagine how my life would be without him.” Jin is very patient to her, he’s been taking care of her heartily. “I’m not doing this because I want to reciprocate what he has done to me, I’m doing this because this is my true feeling, this is what I want to do,” she adds.
It’s almost an hour since they started the sharing session. At the end of it, the psychologist tells Kame the schedule of her next checkup.
Kame stands up from her seat and bows to the psychologist as she says thank you.
“Are you really happy?” the psychologist asks again before Kame gets out from the room.
Kame smiles sweetly. “Of course doctor! I’m beyond happy! And grateful,” she admits cheerily before bowing once again to the psychologist then leaving the room.
Jin is waiting outside of the room. He stands immediately when he sees Kame coming out of the room.
“How was the session?” Jin asks as he takes Kame’s hand.
“It went well.” Kame grins, swinging their intertwined hands.
On their way to Jin’s car, they pass Kame’s old room at that hospital. The door is opened. Stopping and releasing her hold from Jin’s hand, Kame walks towards the room. She’s looking around the room in silent, there’s no one in that room. Jin doesn’t stop her, he let her do anything she wants. She come closer to the bed, trailing her hand on the bed’s rails where her hands used to tied onto. Sitting on the bedside, she looks at the neat bed sadly.
Letting out a deep breath, Kame walks back to Jin and smiles. “Let’s go to the beach!” She says out of the blue.
That sudden request renders him shocked but he can’t say no. He won’t say no. So he smiles back at Kame and lead the way to their car.
They arrive at the beach where Jin took Kame for a walk at the first time, when Kame’s still in depression. The beach where Jin found her mesmerized by a turtle that makes him decide to call her, ‘Kame’.
They sit side by side at the seashore. Jin knows that there’s something in Kame’s mind that keep bugging her. She’s been looking at waves in silence since they arrived at the beach. Sighing, Jin resists the urge to ask what is bugging her, he won’t ask. He believes that she will tell him everything when she feels like it.
After a quite long silence, Kame finally starts to talk. “Nee Jin...” Her eyes keeps looking straight to the waves, “Are you happy?”
Jin stays quiet for a second before moving his hand to guide Kame’s head to lean on his shoulder. “Yeah.. I’m more than happy actually,” he finally says.
Kame smiles upon hearing his answer. There’s a silence again after that.
“Jin..” Kame calls him again.
“Hmm...?”
“Thank you,” Kame whispers.
Jin hums contentedly, brushing Kame’s hair lovingly and kissing her head before saying “I love you, Kame.”
Closing her eyes and leaning closer to Jin, she whispers “I love you too” only loud enough for Jin to hear. She’s glad Jin has found her on that day in the hospital, she feels lucky because Jin decided to take care of her. She wouldn’t be like what she’s today if not for Jin’s kindness. Heaving a deep sigh, Kame snuggles closer to Jin, enjoying the sea breeze and the smell of the ocean. She hopes that this peaceful times would last long.
*****
It’s a hot summer day, tourist can be seen everywhere around the beach as their town is known for its beautiful beach. A lot of tourist means busier days for the cafe.
At the cafe, Koki is sitting at the cafe counter, fanning himself because he’s sweating like mad and today also will be busier than usual day. He needs to save energy for the time the cafe is open. Meanwhile, Jin is checking the refrigerator as Kame takes notes, jotting down list of groceries Koki and Jin need to buy at the supermarket later.
Koki is still fanning himself, looking outside the cafe. He sees a lot of girls playing at the beach. Despite the heat and crowded cafe, Koki actually loves summer. Pretty girls with their summer dress or bikini are everywhere, he could be acquaintance with them and there is also the possibility of him getting a girlfriend. He surely won’t let the chance slip out of his hands.
The thought of getting a girlfriend this summer still doesn’t stop Koki from thinking that Kame is still the best compared to any girl. She’s the most beautiful, she is his angel. To add to her already perfect image on Koki’s head, she’s a good cook! Her cooking is the best. Too bad she chooses Jin over him. Well, that can’t be helped, Koki understands very well that Jin is everything to her. It’s a fate that Kame and Jin can get together like now. Koki is also happy seeing Kame smiling and finally able to recover from her depression.
As for Kame, summer is not the best and definitely not her favorite season. It’s not only because of the heat but also because summer means many strangers come to their town. She feels uncomfortable with that. Yet, she has to bear with it. In summer, their cafe will always be full of people which makes them get more income than in usual days. Even though the cafe is the only source of their income, she never complains. She enjoys living a modest life with Jin as long as they’re happy.
“Ok. Kame, have you finished writing the list?” Jin asks after he closes the refrigerator door.
“Uhm.. Yes I have,” she rips the paper from her small notebook then giving it to Koki, who is still sitting at the cafe counter.
“Mou.. Kame-chan, can I just sit here till the opening time? It’s so hot. Let Jin go alone to the supermarket,” Koki whines, he doesn’t show any intention to move from his spot.
Kame doesn’t say anything. She only glares at Koki, signaling him to get up and do the job or else, he won’t ever get to taste her food again.
“Kame-chan~~” Koki continues to whine that gain him a smack on his head. “Ow ow ow!”
“Shut up Koki! I’ll wait you in the car.” Jin says casually as if he doesn’t hit Koki’s head just now. “I’m going!” He says to Kame before kissing her forehead.
“Be careful! I’ll clean the cafe.” Kame smiles to Jin.
“Oi, can both of you think of my feeling? Oh God, you two are like a married couple already.” Koki says dramatically, pretending to be hurt by Jin and Kame lovey-dovey act.
“Koki, just stop talking and prepare the car if you don’t want to see us,” Jin shooing Koki to leave the room. Koki finally stand up while grumble something that sounds like ‘so hot I don’t wanna go’. Kame only chuckles seeing this.
“So, are you really okay staying in our house alone?” Jin smirks to Kame.
Kame pouts at that question, she knows that Jin loves to tease her. “Just go...” she starts to whine.
Jin only laughs seeing her reaction. He so wants to continue teasing her if not because of Koki who honks the car and shouts, “Oi, Jin what took you so long?!” He then kisses Kame’s pout, patting her head and says, “Take care,” before walking to the car.
In the car, Jin smiles as he remembers Kame’s pout. She’s so cute. Seeing Jin’s dreamy face, Koki clears his throat to gain Jin’s attention.
“It’s nice to see you smile again. Sometimes you look creepy, but still, I prefer your smiley face that your previous gloomy face,” Koki says to Jin.
“Thanks to Kame,” Jin says, still smiling.
“Yeah yeah.. I know you’ve changed because of her,” Koki nods in agreement. “But who have changed the most is actually Kame. She was an angel when I first saw her, now she’s a very beautiful angel with a very bright smile. More importantly, she’s not afraid of me anymore. Ah... I love her smile and her cooking~” Koki says with dreamy voice.
“How dare you saying that you love her in front of her boyfriend?” Jin slaps Koki’s head and pretends to get angry. He knows Koki is just joking though.
“Ok ok. I’m sorry Jin, Kame is all yours!” Koki apologizes the they both laughing.
It’s been only 10 minutes since Jin and Koki gone to the supermarket. Kame is cleaning the blackboard, she’s going to write today’s menu on it. She draws a picture of spaghetti, which turn out like a batch of rope and ends up erasing it. Then she draws draws a picture of Jin, the owner of the cafe, which turn out like a godzilla. Pouting because her drawing turns out to be far different than what she wants to draw, she finally gives up. She’ll ask Koki to draw the picture after he gets back.
She leaves the blackboard and proceeds to clean the cafe. She glances at the clock and realise that it’s only a few hours left before the opening time so she needs to be quick. She’s busy wiping the table when she hears the door bells clinging and the sound of person’s stepping into the cafe.
Still wiping the table, Kame says, “Did you forget something Jin?” assuming that the person is Jin.
But she receives no answer so she turns around and surprised by what she sees. The person is not Jin but a stranger, he’s standing at the door seemingly at the same surprise state after seeing Kame.
“Oh.. I’m sorry but the cafe hasn’t been opened yet,” Kame apologizes to the guy who remains silent.
Then there’s another guy coming from behind the first guy, he’s tall and handsome. “Why do you just stand here?” he asks the first guy who still stunned.
The first guy turns his head to second guy with confused look then to Kame. The second guy realises something’s not right before he sees the reason of his friend confused face and shouts, “KAZUYA?!”
