The Lake
Took the kids to Lake Monroe yesterday. I believe it was the first time either of them had veen to that particular lake. It was bb's first time swimming in a lake at all. She did best when I held her on my hip and walked out to where the water was high enough to splash her.
There has been a lot of rain here recently, so the water was high and not as clean as usual. Several beaches were closed, but the Paynetown one, where we went, was open. We met a few good friends there.
They were friends of mine from high school who brought their families with them. It was really nice to see people.
It took Julian a minute to get comfortable with the waves crashing into him, but he eventually just enjoyed the experience. I love how open he is to trying new things. I also appreciate how flexible he is when things do not go quite as planned.
I am pretty sure the baby needs a bit more consistency to stay in her comfort zone.
We all had fun, except maybe Ryan, who was in a new place with new people. That is just not his thing at all. I really appreciate his being giving enough to go there with us.
