Home now, by the way. The trip went alright, all things considered. I’ve certainly had much worse times with my dad. It’s still an uphill battle a lot of the time, he freaked out once in a story I won’t bother relating due to it’s absurdity, but otherwise he wasn’t that bad. The problem now is that if he says something stupid, I call him on it. I don’t take his shit anymore. It leads to more arguments, but it also ends with me feeling a lot better about myself by the time I return home. We agreed on the car ride to the airport that 4 days was a good length and caused us to fight less.
I didn’t get into Edmonton until 2:30am, my poor parents sat there waiting for me for ages. We were delayed at takeoff because a passenger never showed and his bag had to be found and taken off. Very odd, I’m glad they got rid of it. My bag (which was actually my mom’s) was destroyed by the time we got to Edmonton. The zipper and pocket got detached on the outside and they messed up my Converses which were in the outside pocket! Bitches. We had to file a report and then pile all my stuff into the back of the van to give them the bag which they are either going to fix or replace.
That along with what happened on the way there which was just complete and utter harassment by Air Canada staff is leaving me not too excited to fly with them in October.
