Strange reunions

Steve Colton's funeral was today - I can honestly say it was one of the best funerals I've ever attended, if a funeral can be good. It was happy and sad and full of good thoughts, unlike others I've been to where the service has been depressing as all get out.

It was also the strangest reunion anyone could have thought possible. And we had all met two years ago when Steve retired. An honor band was present made of Steve's colleagues in music education and some of his former students (who are now band directors in their own right). The pastor, Dr. Chapman, was a former band parent, his three sons having played for Steve. Many of my own classmates were present since our 10 year reunion is tomorrow and Saturday (and we even found a "lost" classmate who hadn't been informed of the reunion; yay Govind for finding him).

It was nice. Sad, because Steve will be missed, but nice.
