Sorry for the influx of skating talk
Johnny withdrew from Worlds today.
I'm heartbroken and yet I understand.
This however feels a lot like the way Sasha did it back in 2007 I think. She just said that she's gonna take a break, did some shows and never came back. Well, 2010 US Nationals not counted.
This is where the conflicting feelings one feels as a fan comes in again. I understand and agree that Johnny needs a break and should skip Worlds, yet at the same time, he literally did not make it to Worlds last year and it severely affected his standing and political clout in the skating world.
I also want to believe that he's gonna be training hard for next season but at the same time I want to just rest and move on. He did say that he's going to leave after this season. All the punishment his body has taken must be really taking a toll.
I don't know. Just, whatever Johnny feels I think he should do it. After all, as a fan, I am going to stand by him.
