it doesn't matter how many sit ups you do, it matters on the quality of the situp, the form of the situp. and if you don't do any cardio with situps, you're just adding muscle underneath all of your fat on your stomach.

YES! then I'm doing it RIGHT bc I do my sit ups SLOW and do the breathing right...I'm also doing cardio for at least 30 (def more) mins a day! I stay really active...and fortunately...I don't have a lot of fat.

Thanks for the tips! I'm going to do like 200 more tonight! woo hoo!

Yeah, but you really shoudn't do so many in a short amount of time. Maybe 200 every other day, that way your muscles regain some strength and that helps. I read that somewhere.

That is true...we learned that in PE last year lol. In order for you to truly build up muscle tone, you really should give your body a day or two to repair your muscles and build on them. Otherwise you won't get muscle tone.

That's the spirit, love! lol.

I never could get into exercise...I'm too lazy. Well, not exercise like working out, at least. If I had the opportunity to have an Olympic-sized pool, I would go and do lots of laps. For some reason swimming doesn't wear me out like other stuff does, unless I'm doing sprints.

For some reason, when I'm doing slow laps and concentrating more on form than speed, it doesn't really wear me out...not like the stuff we did in gym last year. Like, over the summer, I got a chance to go and swim in the pool at Juniper Hills Park before it opened (a family friend, a swim coach, is also one of the managers of the pool). I did 3 500's. That's really not that much...that was only 30 laps of an Olympic sized pool, but considering I hadn't swam in 4 years, I was proud of myself.

Swimming is really good exercise for you, anyway. If you do it right, it can tone almost all of the muscles of your body.

yes...I know. It's supposed to work ALL of your muscles at one time! (good for you)! But, I don't swim because I still haven't found a swim suit that fits on my boobs! :(

I've gotten in the habit of running a mile or two every other day at Centennial Park. I love it...I can get away from all the damned corpses. Ha. Well, I have leg muscles like no other. Hell yeah. You should start with like 50 in the mornings and 100 in the afternoon to evening...once you do that a week or so, add 25 to morning and evening. Build up...your muscles can be overworked and end up not doing what they're supposed to do.

I do about 165-ish sit ups every wednesday that my dance teacher's there. Our routine (if you'd like to try it) is 10 push ups, 50 straight sit-ups. 10 push ups, 50 sit-ups to the right. 10 push ups, 50 sit-ups to the left, 10 push ups. Then we do like 15 sit-ups in the middle of the floor with our legs up in the air in a V like 1 reaching in between your legs, put legs together, arms reaching past legs...idk if that makes sense..but 1 V and one II *those are two legs up in the air straight lol* equals one...so it's a total of 30 more...tell me if this doens't make sense or anything. lol.
