Life is What Happens While You Are Making Other Plans
Friday I took my Blazer in for an oil change. Saturday afternoon it started to smell funny and steam seemed to be coming out of one side of the engine, so I skipped church and took it to the shop Monday morning early. Seems the oxygen sensor has burned a hole in a transmission cooling line, thus the leak. Plus one of the power steering fittings is beginning to leak too. This is not a good thing. Why does February always seem to be a month of trouble ? Grrr. So I've a rental to get to work etc. I think I would like a more boring financial life.
Since I was in a stressed out mood anyway I did my taxes Sunday evening. I'm getting a pleasant refund from both the Feds and VA. Normally that would have put me in a very good mood but the second truck repair will pretty much take both refunds. Oh well, at least the refunds will make the situation less of a crisis. I did the VA one on-line but the Feds on-line filing is weird so I ended up mailing that one this morning.
Monday after I got the rental car I stopped in at Plan 9 and bought a heavily discounted used CD of Celtic Christmas music. It won't fix my finances but listening to it made life a bit cheerier. And the weather is improving so the ice is melting.
