A Play!....In Television and Film?

Yes, that is it exactly! My professor gave us an assignment to team up, write a play, rehearse it, and perform it so he could humiliate us further by recording it and burning it on a DVD. Well, on the bright side, I was put on a very good team. Three boys this time (I like working with boys better as they're much more fun) and they all had great suggestions and we really had a fantastic time working together. We never argued, never got upset with one another, and we never had issues getting together to work.

We brainstormed in class last week Monday, got our idea, and I wrote the first draft that night. The next day we edited it and I wrote draft two in about 45 minutes. The following day we edited and I shelled out draft three in fifteen minutes. Finally, draft four was complete and we began to rehearse.

Now please keep in mind that I am an extremely quiet, innocent-appearing person. I've never done or said anything to make it seem like I was anything but those two things. So after a power outage right before class and our professor telling us he wouldn't show up to class but we'd have a substitute instead, we performed. The play went untitled, but it consisted of the following: A female director trying to make it into the film industry is talked into making a pornography by a business associate who conveniently forgets to tell her the two actors are deaf and her translator doesn't know sign language.

Did I mention this involved whipped cream?

Needless to say, everyone in my class will never see me as a quiet, innocent person ever again. If I ever get around to fixing the pantomiming directions in the script, I'll post it. Until then, all you need to know is there was no nudity or inappropriate touching, the whipped cream was placed on faces only, and I did not mean to throw the translator onto the table with so much force.

I don't think I'll ever post the video segment, but if I can get my hands on a copy, I'll fix the script, post that, and then consider posting the video if I can upload it to YouTube. YouTube has been really funky with files and coding lately and it's beginning to irritate me. I don't think it's necessary that you see how terrible an actress I am, however, so.... We'll see!
