Hi all! :) Saw this place in my featured communities and couldn't say no!

I love baking, and I come bearing a gift of pound cake!

This is a recipe I found online and added a few twists to.

:)

Recipe makes 1 - 8x4 inch loaf pan - (I usually double the recipe, and add lemon juice/lemon zest to taste sometimes as well.)

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup sour cream

3 eggs

1 pinch baking soda

1 tsp vanilla extract

All the zest and half the juice from one lemon, if desired (you can add a bit of sugar to the lemon juice to mellow it too)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour a 8x4 inch loaf pan.

In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add sour cream, eggs and vanilla.

Add the flour and pinch of soda, mix well. Pour into one 8x4 inch loaf pan.

Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean.

(NOTE: It usually takes about an hour and 15 to an hour and 20 minutes for a double batch baked in two 8x4 pans!)
