Sally Lunn and Cinnamon-Raisin Bread

Apr 14, 2012 17:43

Alas, I do not have a digital camera so there will be no illustrations, but I baked and wanted to brag! The Sally Lunn bread turned out as tender and almost cake-like as I remembered - yum. It did take about twice as long to rise as usual, but baked up well so I am not puzzling myself too much.
The cinnamon-raisin bread almost wasn't when I got to the much-loved 'punch-down' stage and realized I had left out the raisins! So, I improvised and layered the raisins into the bread along with the cinnamon-sugar mix as I rolled up the dough. *tsk* It did make a pretty pattern in the bread when it was sliced.
Now I am wanting to bake some more. Maybe after I scrub up the kitchen.
