Easy, delicious rhubarb pie.

This is my own recipe, so I was very excited to try it out. And all I can say is that it was absolutely delicious, the pie I made was gone in less than 30 minutes after I took it out of the oven! As my father said, "This is better than cream cake! We've got to save this recipe for ever!"

Mmmm... looks yummy! In America we'd probably call it a strudel instead
of a pie, but I suppose it doesn't really matter what you call it... :)
Yummy is yummy!

Which just goes to show how fluid language is, as I would most certainly not call this a strudel ;0) Absolutely nothing like one. And half of what America calls a pie, here in the UK we wouldn't call a pie, and half of what we call pies, America probably wouldn't call a pie...

Well, neither does English really. Strudel and kuchen are both loanwords we've stolen from from German. The latter is only used in the US though I think - here in the UK I've never heard anybody refer to kuchen unless in a directly German context ("and then we had Kaffee and Kuchen" for example ( ... )

Aaah! Sneaky. Funnily enough that was my initial instinct before I spotted the Swedish. (Ja terve! Jag prater inte Svenska; mutta minä puhun suomi. Well, a tiny, tiny bit. Not much more than that... I studied in Helsinki for four months, and miss it dearly.)

If it's any comfort, you're not alone in finding the tags in here confusing. They're very much made from an American perspective (which makes sense, given the dominant membership) which means that even though I'm a native English speaker, some of them are totally useless!

Sure, friend away! If you're not put off by my incoherent ramblings ;0)

I'm pretty sure that they have lots of different names for cakes, pies, muffins, etc.

Well I'm pretty certain for doughnut alone you seemed to have three! (Oh how I miss delicious berliininmunkki.)
