Well, spring break is over and done with. If I had to choose words to describe it, I'd say that it was "uneventful, yet too short." Lack of stuff going on can probably be attributed to nobody I know outside of my family being in town. Well, maybe Thomas Maier, but I didn't see him

Starting to wonder if I might go ahead and quit my internship at Optomen...
I'll be the first to admit that I don't know the ins and outs of your industry, but given your reluctance about your own chances on the job market, this seems like a bad idea. When you apply for jobs, you'll need all the relevant experiences and references you can get, and leaving halfway through your internship period might not be the best way to leave an impression.
Also, there's the chance that the internship itself might lead to job opportunities, or at least give you a little more leverage - if they have higher openings, you'll have the advantage of already knowing the ropes a bit. You probably don't want to work for that company forever, but it's potential work. Internships are supposed to be more than just credits (they just give you those so they don't have to give you money).
If you have more hours than you need, maybe see if you can't scale back a bit. Maybe you could start later in the morning.
Can't say I know much about insomnia, but when I had to start getting up earlier, the only thing that worked for me was basically forcing myself to go to bed earlier - and if waking up wasn't easier, I turned in earlier and earlier until it was. The most important part, though, is keeping it fairly regular. The body simply can't adjust to getting up early half the week and staying up late the other half (your brain's the only part that knows Sunday from Monday). Now that I'm pretty established in a schedule, I give myself maybe one night a week of staying up really late, but other than that I follow more or less the same schedule every day, give or take an hour or so on either end. The downside is that now just one all-nighter will leave me pretty blitzed; the upside is that now I have enough time awake and alert that I don't really need them anymore.
