CHAPTER 13 - TELLING GUCHI WHY
RECAP:
"I think it's about time for me to go." Jin said.
Kazu looked at the clock and realized it was almost 4:00! He stood up but kazu grabbed his arm.
"No! Please stay! I feel a lot safer with you." she said.
He looked down at her and nodded his head. Kazu was so tired.
She layed her head down, falling asleep in Jin's arms.
The next day kazu woke up and saw guchi still passed out on the couch.
Kazu reached over looking for Jin, but he wasn't there.
She stretched and looked around the living room,
and he was sitting there in the chair, just looking at kazu.
"Morning." jin said.
"Good Morning. How long have you been up?" kazu asked.
"Oh, about a half and hour..." he said.
"I've just been sitting here. I didnt go anywhere." He could tell that
kazu was still shook up.
"Wow, she's still sleeping!" kazu exclaimed.
Kazu looked at the clock and saw it was already 1:00.
"Oh my god! My parents! They're going to be home soon!" she jumped up and
starting shooing Jin out.
"Its OK, your mom called earlier while you were sleeping,
and left a message on the answering machine saying she would be
home later tonight." Jin said lowering her arms.
Kazu let out a deep breath to calm herself down.
The memories of last night were rushing through her mind.
It was starting to give her a headache.
"Are you OK?" jin asked.
"Yeah, I think I just need to have something to eat."
kazu said heading into the kitchen.
"I was thinking the same thing." he said.
"Do you know how to make french toast?" he said coming closer.
They were in practically the same position of that night he
first came to kazu's house.
"Do I know how to make frenchtoast'...Pft... duh!
But who's says im going to make it for you?" kazu grabbed a frying pan and took
out the carton of eggs. French toast sounded good to her right about now.
'But, why in the world Jin would ask, for french toast?' Isn't he pure japanese?
"Well fine then be that way.
I'll just go have my bowl of some soup over at my house" Jin said dramically.
"No. You can stay for breakfast. And maybe we can do something today."
"You just can't reisist me, can you?" Jin said, smirking at kazu.
He continued to stare at her but stopped when kazu heard Guchi waking up.
Kazu went out into the living room to greet her.
She looked like a long line of hell that the cat dragged in.
She probably felt that way too.
"Morning sunshine!" kazu greeted her with a hug.
Guchi had her hand on her head and slowly began to bring herself up.
"Huh? How did I get here?" she said slowly.
Kazu gave her some Aleve and a glass of water.
"Here take these, it should help with that headache." kazu said.
"So your not mad at me anymore?" Guchi asked.
"No of course not, I'm always here for you. Remember that." kazu said putting
her hand on guchi's shoulder.
"What happened last night? The last thing I remember is you yelling at me, and
then me puking on the curve of some road." guchi said as she swallowed the pills.
"Well all that did happen." kazu said.
"What happened in between doesnt matter." Jin walked in the room, and Guchi
looked up in astonishment.
"What is he doing here?" she asked.
"I helped you guys get in the house last night." He answered.
"And you stayed?" she asked. Standing up.
"Yeah... About that..." kazu answered.
"Nope... no need to answer." She said, putting her hand up.
"Well I put out some clothes for you to wear, and I'm making some french toast."
Kazu said pushing her towards the steps.
"I was right, you ARE like my mother..." she paused.
Guchi took a couple steps up the stairs and turned around to say,
"Thanks." And headed up to kazu's room.
Kazu and Jin looked at each other and starting making some breakfast.
Guchi came down and they all ate.
Kazuya was filling guchi in on all the in between drama at the party
(skipping the Jun and Toma incident), and Jin was laughing about the fact
that Guchi got up in the middle of the night opening and shutting the door
like mad.
"I dont remember that!" guchi said.
"Yeah, me either." kazu said. He laughed.
"I was kidding, that never happened. I just felt like saying something to add to
the story." they all laughed.
"Well you played an important role in the story. You got us in the house."
kazu said reassuringly.
"What happened between you guys while I was out anyhow?" guchi asked.
"Oh, nothing." kazu said shyly.
"Don't lie kazuya." Jin turned his attention to Taguchi.
"We humped like rabbits all through the night." Jin said with a serious look on
his face. Kazu couldnt help but laugh.
"Oh, yeah I left out that minor detail." kazu said, going a long with it.
"Really? Did you?" guchi asked.
"NO! Don't be stupid!" kazu threw a piece of french taost at her while laughing.
Guchi can be really gullible sometimes.
She looked down at the table in embarrassment.
"No, that didn't happen, but I wish it did! I mean, she wished it did..." Jin said.
'There's that charm again...'
The rest of the day they hang out and watched a couple of movies.
Kazu, Jin and Guchi got along like they were all old friends with the
exception of kazu and Jin..
He was always putting is hand around kazu's waist or shoulders, and finding excuses to tickle her and said her name everytime he adressed kazu.
While kazu and jin were leading Guchi up to the cabins,
Jin grabbed kazu's hand to bring her over to show her something,
but he didn't let go after that...
The day turned into night, and Jin headed home at around 7:00.
And kazu guchi went back inside.
"Finally. I thought he was never going to leave!" guchi said dragging k
azu up to her bedroom.
They both laughed, but a part of kazu just felt so sad...
"So, what happened. Be honest." guchi said, referring to Jin.
"Nothing, really. I swear. I went down to get him and asked for his help,
and when we got inside, he helped with getting you settled,
and we fell asleep on the floor." Kazu said honestly.
"Oh man! I was hoping something juicy would have happened.
He seems so perfect for you. You guys get along so great."
Guchi said massaging her temples.
Kazu guessed guchi still had a headache.
"guchi, do you know WHY we left in the first place?" kazu asked.
It was time to tell her. Kazu couldn't keep this bottled up inside her.
"Because I got really drunk?" She guessed.
"No that's not it. To tell you the truth,
I didn't even know how drunk you were until we got out to the gas station."
"Oh... So then why did we leave?" She asked worriedly.
Kazu took a deep breath and held her head up to stop the tears from coming down.
"We were playing truth or dare, and Jun dared me to kiss...
make out with Toma in the back room." kazu said.
Kazu looked at her, and she just listened intently.
"Well, we got into the bedroom, and he went to go kiss me,
but I turned my face." kazu didn't want her first kiss to be some sort of
game with a drunk loser.
"kazu, what are getting at?" she asked impatiently.
"He starting touching me, and I told him to stop but he wouldn't."
A teardrop came sliding down to kazu's red cheek.
"And when I asked Jun for help, he just stood there and watched..."
kazu said, more tear drops coming. She sniffed them away and went on.
"I just started flipping out and hit toma across the face.
He got angry and slammed me down on the bed.
He called me a prude bitch and put his whole body on top of mine."
The tears kept coming, but kazu couldn't stop there. She went on still.
"I kneed him in the groin, pushed Jun and ran out of the room as fast as I could.
That's when I got you, and we left."
By the time kazu finished, she was sobbing with her head buried in her
cupped hands.
"Oh my god kazuya. Why didn't you tell me earlier?" she said hugging kazuya.
"You don't even remember making out with the guy with you, how were you
supposed to remember that? And I didn't want Jin to know..."
kazu said calming down.
"kazu, I'm so sorry. If I never would of drank, this wouldn't of happened."
She said comforting kazu.
"Don't blame yourself... if it's anyones fault, it's theirs." kazu said.
She let out a big sigh... feeling like a weight was lifted off her chest.
"Well, are you going to tell anyone? Like your mom, a teacher, the POLICE?
You aren't going to let them get away with this are you?"
"If we get the police involved with this, then we would get in trouble for being
at the party in the first place, and you would be charged with underage drinking.
It's better if we just let it blow over." kazu said.
Guchi nodded with agreement and kazuu heard the door open.
She went downstairs and greeted her mother and father.
CHAPTER 14 teaser ...
"Who the hell do you think you are?" Jin said pulling Jun out of his chair.
