I hate religion
So, my family was talking about religious beliefs. Somehow, it went from them talking about the Bible to Janelle stating that she practices Wicca, but doesn't believe in a higher being. And my mom went on and said "you're wrong for doing that."
I wanted to fucking punch my mom and scream at her.
You don't TELL someone they're wrong when it comes to their own religious path. If Janelle wants to celebrate nature and magick without believing in a creator, that is her personal business. It is not up to ANYONE to walk up to her and be all "WICCA: UR DOIN IT WRONG." There is no wrong or right way to practice any religion or faith, no matter what the "sacred texts" say. If someone believes something, that's between them and their own faith. The A-B Conversation thing. Unless it's hurting you, ignore it. Or something like that.
Personally, I classify myself as Pagan. It's vague, but it describes what I believe perfectly. I believe in an unidentified higher power. I celebrate nature and magick. I believe in love and helping others and ridding the world of the hate that divides us. (I realize I have my hypocritical moments, here)
