Josh pulled off the highway looking around for the motel that he knew he would find Jared in. His call had been successful; his contact had been able to tell him right where Jared was. Josh had gotten into his car as soon as the call ended and had driven quickly to the area just outside of Miami.
He hoped the five men were still here; he was told that they were staying in hotels for only a day or so before moving on. But if they weren’t here, then Josh would just follow them to the next destination. He would follow them until he got back what was his.
Once he got Jared, he planned to disappear for awhile with him; Diane had helped him set it all up yesterday. All he needed was Jared and that file. He figured Jensen would try to use it as a bargain for Jared. But Josh didn’t plan to do a deal. He was walking away from this with both the file and Jared.
He was still undecided about what to do about the four men. He wanted to crush them and ruin their lives. Murder was always an option; but Josh wasn’t sure he wanted to take the time to hire people to kill them. He, of course, wouldn’t dirty his hands and that would lessen his involvement in their punishment. He wanted to be the one to hurt them. He just had to think of a good way to do it.
Finding the hotel, he pulled to the side of the road near the woods. He could see both the front parking lot and the back gazebo area. The sun was still in the sky and Josh didn’t want to be caught; if he could avoid the friends for now then so much the better. He looked into the front parking lot area and could see a dark SUV that he knew belonged to one of Jensen’s friends.
“Found you.” Josh whispered as he saw the car.
All he had to do now was to wait for the dark.

Jensen was sitting in the back of the hotel on a picnic table letting the sunshine warm his body. The Inn they were at was nice; only one level but it was filled with small; cozy rooms. All the rooms had patio doors in the back that led outside to a nice grassy gazebo area that was filled with chairs and picnic tables. They had gotten three rooms; Chad was in the room to the left of his and Jared’s; Chris and Steve were in the room to the right of theirs.
They had only planned to stay one night but Jared had pretty much slept all day yesterday after they had stopped for lunch and he was worried that Jared was still too tired to travel. Steve had persuaded them that another day here would be okay.
Jensen looked behind him into the room through the open patio door. He could see Jared asleep on their bed. He had been sleeping all day, only getting up to get a light lunch about two hours ago.
“Hey man.” Chad greeted as he climbed up on the picnic table to sit next to Jensen.
“Hey.” Jensen greeted back. “How are you doing?”
Chad shrugged. “I’m good. Just worried about Jared and you know…everything.”
Jensen nodded.
“How is he?” Chad asked playing with a thread on his jeans.
“Good. He’s doing a lot better; he’s stronger and more with it. He’s just still kind of tired. He’s sleeping right now.” Jensen explained as he pointed over his shoulder.
Chad turned around to look and smiled at the sight of his friend sleeping peacefully. “Good. I think he’s got the right idea. I’m going to go take a nap.” Chad slapped Jensen on the back as he got off the table.
Before Chad could get to far away, Jensen called for him. “Chad?” Once the man turned back around to face him he asked the question that had been on his mind for a few days now. “You’ve known Jared longer than I have. Do you think he’s going to be okay after all of this has happened…you know…mentally?”
Chad looked to the ground for a few seconds before looking back up at Jensen. He nodded his head. “Yeah, I’m pretty sure he will be. He has you to help him. How could he not be okay with someone who loves him as much as you do?” Chad smiled and turned around to walk inside his room.
Jensen smiled and sat there in the sun for a few more minutes before he got up and walked to their room. Once he got in he quietly closed the patio door and tip toed to the bed easing himself on it next to Jared. A nap did sound like a good idea.
Jared moaned and came awake as the bed moved beside him. Rolling over he snuggled up into Jensen’s side. “Hi.”
Jensen smiled and put his arms around Jared. “Hi. Sorry I woke you up.”
Jared stretched his body out yawning before resting his head down on Jensen’s chest. “That’s okay. I don’t mind. I’m tired of sleeping. That’s all I’ve been doing.”
Jensen kissed Jared’s temple. “I know, but you need the sleep baby. I need you to get you better.”
“Why?” Jared smiled. “Got some secret plans I need to know about?” Jared leaned up and pressed his lips to Jensen’s in a slow sweet kiss. He rolled over onto his back pulling Jensen on top of him.
Jensen settled between Jared’s spread legs and laughed. “I don’t think there’s anything secret about my plans.” He smiled and leaned down to kiss Jared again.
Jared moaned as Jensen deepened the kiss. He pulled back slightly to breath. “God, I missed you.” He whispered before tugging Jensen’s head back down for another kiss.
Jensen enjoyed the easy kissing for a few minutes before he broke away to get a proper breath. “I missed you too.” Jensen began to place soft kisses all over Jared’s face; smiling as Jared closed his eyes and relaxed underneath him; letting himself be pampered with kisses.
“Mmm…” Jared moaned appreciatively; keeping his eyes closed. “You feel good.”
Jensen stopped his kisses to just look down at Jared’s relaxed face. He looked for so long that he wasn’t sure if Jared was still awake or had slipped off to sleep again.
Jared opened his eyes to slits a few minutes later to look up at Jensen. “Why did you stop?” he asked sleepily.
“I thought you had fallen asleep. You should; I can tell you’re getting tired again.” Jensen coaxed; kissing Jared softly on the lips.
Jared shook his head. “I don’t want to sleep. I want you.” Jared urged. “Please Jensen; make love to me.”
Jensen dropped his head and groaned softly. “God, you have no idea how much I want to be in you right now baby, but you’re too tired. You need to sleep.” Jensen could see how much Jared was struggling to keep his eyes open. “We’ll have plenty of time later.”
Jared smiled. “Okay.” he conceded tiredly. “Will you stay here with me?”
“Of course I will baby.” Jensen said as he scooted off Jared and rested against the pillows beside him.
“Thanks.” Jared yawned out as he turned into Jensen’s side and snuggled as close as he could get. He sighed out contently as Jensen’s arms came around him to hold him tight. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” Jensen whispered into Jared’s hair as he held Jared against his chest as he fell back asleep. Only once he was sure Jared was deep asleep did he allow himself to fall asleep.

Jared woke up slowly, enjoying the warmth that surrounded him. He raised his head up from Jensen’s chest and looked at the older man sleeping peacefully. He smiled and leaned over to place a soft kiss on Jensen’s forehead before he carefully extracted himself from Jensen’s arms and rose from the bed.
He took a minute to stretch and twist the kinks out of his body before he looked around the room. It was really dark; looking outside he could see it was the middle of the night. Glancing at the clock, it showed two in the morning.
He wasn’t tired anymore. Jared just wanted to be away from the bed for a while. Sighing, he looked at Jensen; he wanted to let the man get some sleep; so he quietly walked over to the balcony doors and slipped outside into the cool night air. He stood still with his eyes closed for a few minutes as he let the cool air comfort his body.
Walking off of the small patio he looked over to Chad’s room; the lights were off and he imagined Chad was asleep. Looking over at Chris and Steve’s room he was surprised to find their patio door wide open and a light on in the room. They must not be asleep yet. Jared thought about going to their room to visit with them, but he thought it was kind of late for that. The two lovers just might be sharing some ‘together’ time and he didn’t want to interrupt that. Plus he didn’t know the two men very well yet and it could be kind of awkward.
He walked over to one of the picnic tables near the tall gazebo and sat down at it. He wished Jensen was out there with him but the older man deserved some rest. Jensen had been doing nothing but taking care of him for the past few days and making sure he was comfortable and not in any pain. Jensen had been so wonderful; Jared felt so lucky to be able to call Jensen his.
Glancing down at the bandage around his wrist, curiosity got the better of him and he began to unwrap it. Once it was fully off he set it aside and gently ran his finger over the red swollen cut. He could feel the hardness of the stitches against his fingertips but the pain wasn’t so bad anymore. Hopefully in a few months it would be just a distant memory.
Looking upward Jared smiled at the clear sky that was alit with stars shining brightly. He felt peaceful sitting there in the cool air with his toes digging into the damp grass. He closed his eyes and just enjoyed the feeling of freedom.
He smiled when he felt arms wrap around his shoulders. Jensen must have woken up. He was just about to greet his lover when a cold voice spoke into his ear; paralyzing him with fear.
“Hello dear.” Josh snarled into his fiancé’s ear.
Jared’s eyes widened and he opened his mouth to call for help when Josh’s hand covered his mouth and his other arm slipped upward to squeeze around his neck. Josh yanked him up off the bench and began to drag him backward away from the motel, toward he woods. Chocking, Jared brought his hands up and frantically began to try and yank Josh’s arm down. “Josh…stop…” was all he could manage to get out.
“Thought you could escape from me?” Josh growled into his ear as he continued to drag Jared toward his car. They tripped and stumbled with all of Jared’s wiggling around. He loosened his arm and waited until he heard Jared gasp in a breath before tightening it again. “Well I found you and I’m bringing you back where you belong.”
Jared’s lungs were burning and he was quickly loosing strength. He could do nothing except let Josh drag him backwards. At first, he tried to be as loud as he could in his struggling, hoping someone would see what was happening; but now he was just concentrating on trying to breathe.
Just as Jared though he might pass out; he was flung foreword against a car. He leaned against the hood as he gasped; bringing precious air into his lungs. A heavy body pushed him painfully against the car.
“Where is the file?” Josh hissed into his ear.
“What file?” Jared chocked out.
“Don’t play games with me. My file your fucking friends stole! Where is it?” Josh growled; shoving Jared further into the hood of the car.
“I don’t know!” Jared cried out in pain. “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
Josh stilled for a moment; still leaning heavily on Jared’s back. Maybe they hadn’t told Jared about the file. Maybe Jared had no clue what he had done to his money. This could work out in his favor. If Jared didn’t know that he had let his mother take Jared’s money, then Jared would have no reason to be upset with him. He didn’t need the file then; he and Jared were leaving anyway, so it didn’t matter what Jensen and his friends did with it.
Feeling much happier, Josh pulled away from Jared and turned him around to face him. “It doesn’t matter anyway. Let’s go home.”
“No!” Jared shouted; struggling to get away from Josh.
“Shhhh!” Josh warned; not wanting anyone to hear and come to try and take Jared away from him again.
Jared tried to kick and hit at Josh but Josh clasped his wrists in one hand and Jared couldn’t move back fast enough as he saw Josh’s hand come at him. The hard slap had him jerking to the side. His head smacked against the car side window on the way down and the last thing Jared saw was Josh’s shoe coming toward his head before it all went dark.

Jensen woke up with a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. He rolled over into the space where Jared should have been. It was still warm; Jared couldn’t have been away for more than ten minutes.
“Jared?” Jensen called sleepily; thinking he was in the bathroom. When he got no answer, he rolled over and looked around the dark room; the bathroom light wasn’t on.
Sitting up in bed he called again. “Jared?” His voice was slightly louder.
Coldness settled into the bottom of his stomach and he hurried out of bed. He ran a hand through his hair and took a calming breath. “Relax man.” Jensen told himself. “He’s practically been sleeping for three days straight; he’s probably just with Chad.”
Jensen put his shoes on and walked out the door over to Chad’s where he knocked. He knocked again when no answer came. A few minutes later Chad opened the door; sleepy looking and clothes rumpled; Jensen’s heart sank.
“What…Jensen? Dude, it’s the middle of the night.” Chad mumbled.
“Please tell me Jared’s here.” Jensen said desperately.
Any tiredness Chad was feeling left quickly. “Huh? No, he’s not here. I thought he was with you.”
Jensen huffed out a breath. “He was, we were sleeping; but now I can’t find him!”
“Fuck!” Chad swore; pushing Jensen back as he stepped out. “He has to be here somewhere, right?”
“I don’t know!” Jensen exclaimed in a panicked voice. “I don’t know!”
“Okay, calm down. I’m sure he’s here. Let’s just go look for him. I’ll go this way, you go right.” Chad instructed.
Jensen nodded and quickly walked the way Chad had pointed; looking all around for Jared. Fuck! He couldn’t loose Jared again; not when he just got him back.
Jared was no where in the front of the hotel or in the parking lot. Jensen rounded around to the side of the hotel and scanned along the edge of the woods; nobody there. As he rounded around to the back of the motel; his heart sank further when he found the gazebo area empty.
“Jared?” Jensen called loudly.
He didn’t get a response.

Steve was laid out on the bed resting in the breeze coming from the open patio door. It was dark outside and the breeze was cool; soothing his body. He still hadn’t told Chris about what was going on with him or the phone calls. He knew Chris was going to be pissed and every time he worked himself up to say something to the man; he would always be interrupted or just chicken out. He needed to do it soon though or he was going to be put in an awkward position.
He felt the bed dip behind him and then a kiss was placed to his ear, “Hey.” Chris whispered softly. “Are you asleep? It’s pretty late.”
Steve shook his head.
Chris sighed as he rested his head on his hand; bent elbow on the bed so he could lean over Steve slightly. He watched Steve look out at the forest behind their hotel through the open patio door. “You’re doing it again.” He claimed.
“Doing what?” Steve asked not looking away from the outdoors.
“You’re being all silent and evasive again…guilty looking.” Chris sighed and rubbed a hand up and down his lover’s side. “Come on man…don’t you think it’s time we talked about this now?”
Steve shrugged and mumbled, “You’ll be mad.”
Chris’s eyebrows rose as he thought about that. “Did you cheat on me?” he asked after a few minutes of silence.
Steve gasped and turned his head back to look at Chris. “Of course not! Why would you think that?”
Chris shrugged calmly, covering up the relief he felt. “That’s the only thing I could think of that would make me mad.”
Steve sighed and turned to look back out the door.
Chris leaned his head down to rest on top of Steve’s, “Hey…you’re not dying, you’re not cheating…just tell me babe. We’ll work it out…I promise.”
Steve turned around to face Chris and yanked his head down into a kiss. It was long and hard and he wasn’t sure which one of them moaned, maybe they both did.
Chris pulled back after a while and gasped out, “Not complaining or anything, but what was that for?”
“Because I love you.” Steve replied breathlessly.
Chris groaned and dropped his head onto Steve’s chest. Steve was not going to distract him and get out of talking. “Babe…just tell me.”
“It’s about Ben.” Steve said quickly. He felt Chris immediately tense against him and the room was silent.
After a few minutes of strained silence Chris raised his head up and looked at Steve with an angry expression. “So you are cheating on me.” He growled as he pushed himself up off the bed and away from Steve.
“No!” Steve insisted as he sat up and tried to grab Chris but the other man jerked away. “Just let me explain!”
Chris turned his back to Steve and began to pace back and forth. Ben…Ben was Steve’s ex boyfriend. Steve and Ben had been together about six years, since their teenage years. Ben had broken up with Steve when they were about twenty five years old to pursue his career; Ben had to move away and didn’t want a long distance relationship. He could remember how crushed Steve had been and Chris, being the best friend, had comforted him and helped him through it. Steve and him hadn’t gotten together until a year later.
Chris didn’t hate Ben for that reason. No, he hated Ben because not too long after him and Steve got together Ben called up Steve; wanting to get back together; he had wanted Steve to move out with him to his new home. Their relationship was new and it tore Chris’s heart to see the indecision in Steve’s eyes after he would talk with Ben on the phone. It had gone on for a long time and was affecting the relationship between him and Steve. It got pretty bad, Steve and Ben were talking on the phone so much that Chris felt he could do nothing but leave Steve. Chris had been so relieved when Steve came after him and said that he wanted to be with him and not Ben. Chris had agreed on the condition that Steve would stop talking to Ben. Steve had agreed and that had been the end of it. They have been together ever since, going strong for almost seven years.
So Chris didn’t understand why Steve was suddenly bringing up Ben again. They haven’t had contact for over six years. Why would Steve need to talk about something to do with Ben?
“Chris!” Steve yelled; tired of watching the other man pace back and forth. “Stop it and let me explain.”
Chris whirled around to glare at Steve. “So explain!”
Steve sighed, “Look, I haven’t even…” He was cut off as Jensen came running through their door panting; his eyes wide in fear.
“What’s wrong?” Chris asked immediately, forgetting his own problems at seeing the fear in his friend’s eye.
Steve rolled off the bed to grasp Jensen’s shoulder. “Jen, what is it?”
“I can’t find Jared!” Jensen panted. “He’s not here; I looked everywhere!” he explained frantically as Chad ran in behind him.
“I can’t find him either!” Chad sputtered; and he jerked to a stop, barely managing to avoid crashing into Jensen’s back. “What if Josh got to him? What are we going to do?”
Steve looked to Chris with worried eyes.
Chris looked back; they didn’t know.
