Happy New Year to those of you for whom it is a new year :)
We had a little rather traditional party with food and fireworks and (in the very end) a terrible drinking game where you have to drink every time someone says "Forrest" in "Forrest Gump". We really need to think of cooler things to do next year.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is a good movie, even though it's full of EPIC FAIL where continental European landscapes are concerned. Germany and Switzerland look nothing like that.
As for two of the other things I've seen people criticise: Irene's death didn't bother me a) because I'm not 100% that she's dead and b) I liked Simza better anyway. And Mary was quite okay in this one too. As for the WWI plot, it didn't bother me that much, but it seemed a little unlikely, both because the assassination of Prince whatshisname didn't cause WWI and the political climate around the turn of the century was different, and because if Moriarty's plot would work, then Holmes wouldn't have averted it, since the peace conference was still disturbed.
Finally, obligatory yuletide reveal: I wrote a little "Once Upon a Time" fic with Emma and Mr Gold called,
The Language of Gifts is the Language of Deals.
