Doctor Who

Short and unspoily-I really, really, really like Martha. She may end up being my favorite New Who companion- and I did like Mickey and Rose and Jack.

That said- Why are people insane?

There's few things more annoying to me than people who are so militant with their fandom and pairing and favorite character- that they make me embarrassed to be associated with them. I'm nearly to the point where I don't want to say I like Rose because I don't want to be associated with people who are so very invested in the True and Enduring and Deeply Strong love of Rose and the Doctor to the point where any other companion, acquaintance, or passerby in the street is an interfering evil, man snatching whore. I really wish I was exaggerating.

There are people who 'refusing' to watch the new season of Doctor Who because it has Martha a) replacing Rose b) having a crush on the Doctor or c) it doesn't have Rose.

This makes my eyes roll back in my head and me make vague gargling noises. Rose was not the end all and be all. She was not the first, she is definitely not the last. You could argue that she was special because she was the first companion after the Time War, which, apparently, has vastly changed how the Doctor reacts and interacts with his companions- not Rose alone.

Rose was a lot of people's first companion, just like Eccelston was a lot of people's first Doctor. When I think 'The Doctor' I will likely always think of Nine before Ten.

But seriously. Stop being on my side, you make my side look bad. I feel the need for an icon that says "not all Rose fans are crazy" or. I don't know, but it feels like going to a pagan message board that talks about the burning times. I just want to face palm and disassociate.
