Mom's still in surgery.  acorn_destroys and I have left though.  Neither one of us handles hospitals well and the press of the family and the total lack of emotion was getting to us.   I should be used to it by now, but seeing people who are obviously upset fighting back tears or avoiding contact with one another still seems wrong.  Somehow I grew up thinking

Hang in there. Families are funny that way. You take a brake for a while and then go back. Sometimes thats what you have to do to keep your sanity
