13. 24 episodes of Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo (巌窟王, Gankutsuō, literally The Ruler of the Cave). Quote: "Bide your time, and hold out hope."
Continuing from RightStuf sale stash.
from Wiki from IMBd from Rotten Tomatoes from Anime News Network Some points:
- I read nothing but good reviews about this series. I've read the book a long time ago and liked the story. So when RightStuf had it on sale, I got all of them and figure if I don't like it, it's not such a big investment after all.
- I took me the first 2 episodes to get to the art - it's kind of too avant-garde for me. I like the pretty anime. I'm not sure what I think about the design of the count's character, but I like other characters just fine.
- There are some changes in the story, but I have no complaints about them - since this is an adaptation anyway.
- Watching this makes me to reread the story again. Happy sigh.
- The ages of the characters and time lapse don't seem to add up correctly - but I let it go and not splitting hair. Like Haidee - and Albert, Franz, and Eugenie are only 16?
Bottom line, it's a great series, and I'll rewatch it sometime :)

Some points:
- very cute story, it's not licenced in English yet, so I got it from France bdnet.com. I found out that I can read it without problem (much easier than XIII) phew!
Bottom line, reread stack definitely.
