Look on the bright side -- at least he didn't come down with a bad case of head-bonk amnesia. Then you'd have to bonk him again to cure it.

When I was about his age, maybe a little older, I was playing in Victoria Park near my paternal grandmother's house, and I made the mistake of attempting to rapidly stand while inside a big concrete tube, the diameter of which was exactly my height. Tiny little cut on the scalp = BLOOD EVERYWHERE! Scalp wounds bleed like you wouldn't believe.

Freaked my dad out. Fortunately mom was a nurse, pretty used to the whole blood everywhere bit.

Later on about a year later, while playing tag I failed to duck and ran full-speed into an iron bar just above eye height. I actually still have the bump, it never went down.

Kids are pretty durable -- don't stress out about it too much.

It's a wonder we all survived to adulthood. I decided to try the Superman cape on when I was 5 years old. My stagehands perched atop our roof and tied me into a cinching rope loop under my arms (hmmm...sign of things to come?). Anyway, short story long, I jumped and the rope rode up pinning my arms against my head and neck while I dangled a mere inch or two from the ground and started screaming.

Friends fled knowing that the sounding alarm would attract adults.

My dad arrived and imagined for an instance that his 5 year old was battling depression and decided to try to hang himself in his Superman underoos (hmmm...sign of things to come?). Course, instead of helping me down immediately he started swatting my backside and telling me if he ever caught me doing it again I'd be grounded. Thanks Dad!
