Nothing is gained without the loss from another.
Think about it. No one gains anything without having someone else
suffer a loss. No one can gain love for someone without the loss of
this same love from another. When someone wins, there are people who
lose. It's like matter; it cannot be created nor destroyed, only
transferred. Like gambling, one may win money, but only when someone
else has lost. Just think, you can relate this to almost anything.
This idea dawned on me one night at a hookah bar in Novi [yeah most of
you guessed it, No.VI]. Two of my friends noticed a dollar on the
ground which sat on the other side of the patio fence. At the same
time, they both jump up out of their chairs and hop the fence. One kid
gets the dollar, while the other kid receives a cut on his hand from
hopping the fence. It was at that point and time I realised, you cannot
gain anything without having someone suffer a loss... not even
happiness.
Of course there are probably a number of things that does not fit within this idea, but I believe this idea to be universal.
Oh by the way, I can't fall asleep, so I figured I would write something in here to amuse myself.
