Fic Of The Week - Week Seventy Six

Jun 10, 2013 14:46

It's another manic Monday - too much to do, too little time. Got my annual eye test tomorrow - assuming I feel up to going - so I'm trying to get myself sorted for that, and for shopping afterwards so I'm a bit late with this week's fic ( Read more... )

fic rec, fic of the week, reading

I did enjoy last week's selections and look forward to this week's. What a great premise for a story. :)

Good luck with all your running around tomorrow. Sounds stressful--but important!

Thanks, I just hope I feel up to it, I've already cancelled once.

I love my annual eye test (I know, I'm weird). Even though it will no doubt prove ridiculously expensive, I'm looking forward to getting new glasses and new frames, I wonder what I will have this time....

Hop you enjoy this week's fic - I don't think I'll have time to read any of it today!

Great fic choice. The chapters are only short so I was aable to read it all today. Just what I needed :-)
There is apparently a sequel too which I will have to find for another day. :-)

Hope your eye test goes well and you get some cool new glasses. I always like getting new glasses, but I find it difficult to chose them. I always think I like the funky weird ones, but then I think I have to be happy putting them on my face every day for two years until I get a new pair, so I normally wind up toning down my initial choice somewhat!

Glad you enjoyed the fic! I haven't even started it yet - maybe tomorrow!

Eye test went great! I don't strictly need new glasses this time, but the lenses of the ones I got last time were really a bit shallow for my varifocals so I thought I'b better not wear them for another year. Besides, I needed new reading glasses anyway, and they're half price when you buy your regular glasses, so i went ahead. I get my frames from the kids' range because my face is very narrow. Usually the choice is great but this time most were too dark for me. Still, i have metallic blue for my reading glasses ans a sort of dark red for my varifocals with oblong-ish lenses. Very lightweight frames. I was quoted £401 for both pairs, but then she realised she'd made a mistake with her calculations and they were actually £379, which was nice =) Quite a bit cheaper than last year! (Last year's were purple!)
