Fic Of The Week - Week Twenty Four

Jun 11, 2012 14:24

The last week has certainly flown by! Hope everyone enjoyed last week's fic. I know I did! For this week, I've picked two very different fics - a reel_torchwood fic and a CoE fixit. I felt like a bit of variety, lol!

The first one is iolo1234 's take on Tootsie, the Dustin Hoffman film, using our lovely Torchwood characters. Originally posted in February 2011, it's ( Read more... )

You're welcome! I've wanted to read it for ages - I just can't keep up with the reel_torchwood fics when they're posted, so this is my way of getting around to at least some of them! I'll start reading it later tonight, so expect to get a few comments later on!

These aren't the feral chickens that terrorised the village near Southport? The one that has now been invaded by Peacocks?
Can't help feeling it makes a change from Weevils.
Don't call Torchwood - call Springwatch and Bill Oddie!
(I hope you are British or else I am going to sound even more loopy than usual!)
OK going to check out the stories now....

LOL! Yes, I'm British, you're okay! And no, they're not feral chickens - their names are Nutmeg, Nellie and Dalek! (It's a black pepperpot chicken). They often go through the cat flap and settle themselves on the couch. Next door also have three cats, two dogs and I have no idea how many guinea pigs at the moment!

Hope you enjoy the stories!

So Daleks could be descended from chickens? Possible if you think about timey wimey stuff and their original problem with stairs.

*snort* It could explain a few things - chickens are not the smartest of birds and not exactly known for independent thinking!

Hope you enjoy the fics when you get the chance to read.

I'm doing okay, I guess, though I'm exhausted. The overcast weather is making me sleepy and lethargic.

Good luck with the steroids, I hope they stop the itching. You just can't seem to catch a break at the moment. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that everything settles down and all your meds do what they're supposed to while your body settles down and stops reacting badly to things. *waves magic wand* Begone, itch-demons!

I really need an early night, but I went and screwed up, took my pills two hours late and now I'm trying to get back on schedule without taking doses too close together. My brain has not been with it today, and then I got distracted by Stargate.... I think I'll set my alarm clock tomorrow so I get my meds taken at the right times. What a mess! *rolls eyes*

*hugs* You take care of yourself, Love J xxx

I am so behind on my posts. I see I already told you about the steroids. I repeated on another post. I told you about my swollen eye and lip, they went down mostly though my left eye still looks bad to me and the right eye has some tiny swelling on the bottom not the lid, I look like I have been up for days. lol! I'm scared though if it gets worse over night I will have to go to a hospital then. I wish that magic wand would hurry up and work! lol!

I'm sorry your pills got messed up. I hate it when I do that. I hope the rest of that night went better. :)

I just read part one of "Once Lost" by jax25. It is so good so far! I am going to try to read all the chapters. There are only six and I am drawn in already. :D

Ok, is the other one good? It sounded like fun if I remember correctly. I will have to go back and read your post again. Things are really tough again and I've had an awful start to my day. My memory is shot ( ... )

SOMETHING has to work! You're on so many meds now, it wouldn't surprise me if the problems are being caused by two of them reacting badly to each other. I know some meds have bad reactions when taken with certain others. It's so unfair though - you take something to deal with one problem and it causes another. I wish there was more I could do instead of just lending an ear and sympathising. Not fond of hydrocodine myself - I've been on it before, back while I had gallstones and was waiting for surgery, but I prefer to avoid it. Then again, I don't like taking painkillers anyway. I take paracetomol if I'm getting a migraine, which is silly because I know it doesn't work, but sometimes my headaches aren't migraines and then it works, so I sometimes try, just in case ( ... )
