A/N: Quadruple drabble.
Finishing the last mouthful on his plate, Dee leaned back in his seat across from Ryo with a contented sigh, feeling pleasantly full. The waitress, seeing their empty plates, made her way over.
“I hope you enjoyed your meal. Can I get you anything else?” She looked from Dee to Ryo and back again, pencil poised over her pad.
“No thanks, no room left.” Dee smiled ruefully. “Maybe next time we come here I shouldn’t stuff myself so much, leave a bit of room for dessert. You want coffee?” he asked his boyfriend.
Ryo shook his head. “Not today, don’t think I even have room for that.” He smiled up at the waitress. “Our compliments to everyone in the kitchen, that was the best meal I’ve had in quite a while.”
“What he said,” Dee agreed. “Can we get the check?”
“Of course. I’ll be right back.”
As the waitress left, Ryo turned to his partner. “We should leave her a good tip. She looks tired, she’s been run off her feet all evening with the restaurant being so full, but she’s never stopped smiling.”
“Yeah,” Dee agreed. “Makes a change from that waiter the other week, lookin’ down his nose at us like it was beneath him to be servin’ us.”
“Which is why we decided to eat here instead of going back there. I’m glad we did, because it’s not just the service that’s better here. The food is excellent.”
“A bit too good, if ya ask me.” Dee grinned at his lover. “You might haveta pull me outta my chair, not sure I can get up without help.”
“I know what you mean. Next time we come here, maybe we should just not eat all day, so we’ve got plenty of room.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
The check arrived, and Dee paid for both of them, while Ryo contributed to the tip, thanking the waitress. Then they levered themselves out of their chairs and left the restaurant.
“Y’know what we need now?” Dee asked.
“A long walk to work off the excess calories?”
“Somethin’ like that. Got a feelin’ I’m not gonna need feedin’ tomorrow.”
Ryo snorted at that. “Come breakfast time you’ll be starving. Nothing fills you up for long.”
“We’ll see.” Slipping one arm around his lover, Dee glanced up at the clear night sky. “Where to?”
“Doesn’t matter, as long as I’m with you.”
