A/N: Double drabble.
Cardiff was blessed with a surprising number of parks and open spaces, but in all the years Jack had lived there, he didn’t think he’d ever been to this one. Then again, it was small enough to be easily overlooked, tucked away as it was in a corner of Penarth that was mostly residential.
“Belle Vue Gardens? That’s a fancy name for somewhere that’s hardly bigger than a pocket handkerchief.”
“Don’t look at me, I didn’t name it,” Ianto replied. “It’s named after one of the nearby streets.” He pointed to the sign for Belle Vue Close, which was as small and unassuming as the park.
“Someone had delusions of grandeur,” Jack muttered. “Not much of a view no matter which way you look.”
Ianto shrugged. “Maybe it wasn’t as built-up around here when it was named.”
“In which case, why did they make the park so small, and the road so short?”
“No idea.”
“And you’re sure this is where our mysterious object is?”
“The coordinates Tosh gave us point to it being in there.” Ianto pointed to the tiny park. “On the bright side, at least it’s not Bute Park. We’ve only got a small area to search.”
