A/N: Double drabble.
“Why’re they called plain?” Jack asked no one in particular, holding up a biscuit, turning it this way and that as he studied it, before shoving the whole thing in his mouth at once and licking melting chocolate off his fingers. “There’s nothing plain about them,” he mumbled through his mouthful.
“What’s he on about now?” Owen asked, taking a swig of coffee, and hoping the painkillers would kick in soon, soothing his hangover headache.
“God knows,” Gwen muttered from the opposite side of the conference room table. “I’ve given up trying to make sense out of half of what Jack says.”
“Plain chocolate digestives,” Ianto said, selecting one himself. “Also know as dark chocolate, as opposed to the milk chocolate kind. Plain in this case meaning unadulterated by unnecessary additives.”
“Oh!” Jack swallowed his biscuit, grinning. “I guess that makes sense. So, does that mean I prefer my coffee plain because I drink it black, no milk?”
“You add sugar,” Gwen pointed out.
“Only a bit though, not like Owen: Milk, three sugars.” Jack gave Torchwood’s medic a withering look, but Owen didn’t notice; his eyes were closed.
Ianto smirked. “I’ll just serve you coffee beans in future then.”
