“Fencing stolen goods again, Robbie?” Dee asked mildly, leaning against a wall, looking perfectly relaxed.
“Don’t know what ya talkin’ about,” Robbie Morton blustered.
“So you picked all this up wholesale, did you?” Ryo couldn’t hide his amusement. “Funny how it exactly matches what was stolen from an electronics warehouse last week, right down to the serial numbers.”
“How was I supposed to know it was stolen? I bought this stuff in good faith! I been had!”
Dee snorted. “Give it up, Robbie. This isn’t the first time you’ve been caught with stolen items in your possession. Would’a thought you’d learned your lesson last time. Make things easy on yourself, tell us who sold ya this stuff. If ya cooperate, might be able to swing a deal with the judge so you don’t end up behind bars. You’re old enough now to be tried as an adult.”
“I don’t snitch on my mates.”
“Federal prison isn’t like Juvie, Robbie,” Ryo pointed out. “You really want to spend the next few years locked up, sharing a cell with a couple of hardened criminals?”
Robbie chewed on his lip. “Well, guess they’re not really my mates.”
“Thought you’d see it our way.”
