A/N: Double drabble.
Slipping the murder weapon into an evidence bag, Ryo sealed it, then signed his name across the seal, so that it couldn’t be tampered with. If the seal was broken at any point, it would be obvious. Picking the bag up, he watched in disbelief as the weapon fell out the bottom.
Dee glanced across at his partner, his attention captured by the unexpected clatter. “What’re ya doin’, throwin’ evidence around?”
“No, just having some difficulty keeping it in an evidence bag.” He held the bag up, displaying the hole in the bottom, even as he bent once more to pick the weapon up in a latex-gloved hand.
“You must’ve gotten a faulty evidence bag,” Dee said, ambling over. “I’ll get you another one.”
“Honestly, I’m not sure that will help.” Ryo straightened up again, holding the knife, studying it carefully. “The blade’s so sharp it sliced straight through the plastic.”
“Roll it up in an evidence bag, put it inside another one, roll that up, then put the whole bundle inside a third, seal and sign it. That should keep it from makin’ another escape attempt.”
Ryo smiled gratefully. “Thanks, Dee. I’ve never had so much trouble bagging evidence.”
