A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto smiled, watching his daughter and the family Fluff happily engrossed in building something out of wooden blocks. Meriel’s hand-eye coordination was improving rapidly. At just under two years old, she was already able to make a tower of several blocks without knocking it down, although the knocking down was still her favourite part of building anything.
He didn’t think it was because she had particularly destructive tendencies; she was a very tidy child, perhaps because of Nosy’s influence, always putting her toys away when her parents told her to. She just seemed fascinated by the way a carefully constructed pile of blocks could be undone in an instant.
Finishing his coffee, Ianto put his mug in the dishwasher and returned to the lounge, sitting down on the floor, and beginning his own construction. Why should kids and aliens have all the fun? One of the best parts of being a parent was helping his child discover the world around her and figure out how things worked. The chores could wait a while, it wasn’t like they were going anywhere, but he’d never have this time with his little girl again. He was determined to make the most of it.
