A/N: Double drabble.
The wind moaned mournfully around the eaves of their rented cabin, and despite being indoors in front of the blazing log fire, Dee shivered.
“Cold?” Ryo asked, looking up from the book he was reading.
“No, I’m fine, it’s just…” Dee shrugged. “The wind sounds kinda eerie. You sure this place isn’t haunted?”
“Quite sure. Wind just makes weird noises sometimes, blowing through gaps and knot holes. When I was a kid, we had a wooden fence around the backyard, and every so often, when the wind blew from a certain direction…” Ryo trailed off, chuckling. “Let’s just say it was better than a whoopee cushion.”
Dee laughed. “Wish the wind around here made noises like that instead of wailin’ and moanin’ like the souls of the damned. It’s a bit unsettlin’.”
“I sort of like it,” Ryo admitted. “Makes being indoors by the fire feel cosier somehow.”
“I’m definitely appreciatin’ the fire,” Dee agreed. “Wouldn’t wanna be outside in that wind. No wonder it’s howlin’ so loud, probably wants to come in where it’s warm.”
“Let it howl.” Setting his book aside, Ryo slid off the sofa, settling on the rug beside his lover. “We’ll keep each other warm.”
