Summary: Getting abducted by the Rift is never a good thing, but sometimes it can spell disaster.

A/N: Double drabble.
It would be fair to say that any animal or sentient being that was snatched up by the Rift was unlucky, just from being in precisely the wrong place at the wrong time. Where the Rift would strike next was something not even Tosh, with all the advances she’d made in Rift science, could predict. These days she could determine within a radius of thirty feet where the Rift would drop something at the Cardiff end, but there was no way of knowing where or when it had been picked up from, and no way of warning potential Rift abductees anyway.
“You have Torchwood’s deepest apologies, Your Eminence,” Ianto assured the latest displaced dignitary. “I’m afraid Torchwood has no way of controlling the Rift.”
“That’s all very well,” Her Eminence replied, “but I was just about to sign an exceedingly important peace treaty, one that would have brought the ninety-year war to an end once and for all. This is most inconvenient. How will I get back? If the treaty is not signed before the three moons come into alignment, the war will continue until no one is left alive on either side!”
Jack sighed. “I’d better contact the Doctor.”
