Double Drabble: Damaged In Transit

Summary: Rift travel is a bit rough.

A/N: Double drabble.
Almost everything falling through the Rift, whether artefact or technology, arrived damaged in some way. Suzie had assumed that was because only the rubbish of the universe was tossed into the Rift, but Ianto had always suspected most of the damage was caused by the Rift itself.
The end anchored in Cardiff was stationary, more or less, but the other end swept through space and time, plucking up objects at random, and ejecting them with a casual disregard for their safety, or the safety of anyone who had the bad luck to be in the way. It was hardly surprising such rough treatment resulted in a lot of breakages.
Not that Tosh seemed to mind when some new, unknown, and broken object was left on her desk so she could work her magic on it. She relished the challenge.
Unfortunately for everyone, not everything that came through the Rift was inanimate. As with technology, the living creatures and sentient beings that found themselves unceremoniously dumped on earth often arrived in less than pristine condition.
“Patient for you, Owen.” Ianto set a small, fuzzy creature on the autopsy table.
“Not another one!” Owen grumbled. “It’s about time Jack recruited a vet!”
