A/N: Double drabble.
The Torchwood team, in their shiny black SUV, were in a bit of a rush, which was hardly unusual. There was a reason their official vehicle was equipped with flashing blue lights; something of the sort was standard equipment for all emergency response vehicles. Police, Fire, Ambulance, Torchwood…
Unfortunately for Torchwood, the police didn’t exactly see things the same way, which in this instance could turn out to be very unfortunate for most of Cardiff.
“Of all the times to get pulled over for speeding, this has to be one of the worst,” Ianto muttered as he pulled to the side of the road, tapping his fingers impatiently on the steering wheel as the police officer took his own sweet time approaching the driver’s side.
“In a bit of a rush, are we?”
“As a matter of fact, yes.”
“Are you aware you were doing seventy in a forty-mile-per-hour zone?”
“Are you aware that you just stopped an emergency vehicle?” Jack asked, leaning over from the passenger seat.
The officer ignored him. “I’ll need to see your licence.”
“We don’t have time for this!” Jack snapped. “Ianto, drive! We can sort this out after we prevent Cardiff from being vaporised!”
