Ryo frowned at his phone. “Dee, do I know anyone named Theresa?”
Glancing up from the sports section, Dee shook his head. “Not as far as I know. Why?”
“Apparently she had a great time last night and would like to meet up again tonight for drinks.”
“Last night?” Dee chuckled. “Unless you snuck out somewhere after we went to bed, we were together all night. Must be a wrong number.”
“Yeah, that’s what I was thinking.” Ryo quickly texted a reply. ‘Sorry, wrong number.’
Moments later, another text arrived. ‘Not funny, Carly.’
Shaking his head, Ryo replied. ‘Seriously, I’m not Carly.’ He snapped a selfie and sent that too.
Several minutes passed, then another text. ‘Oops, sorry. You’re cute though. Wanna meet for drinks?’
‘My boyfriend wouldn’t approve.’
‘Too bad.’
‘Good luck finding Carly.’
‘Thanks.’
“Sorted?” Dee asked, leaning back in his chair.
“I think so.” Ryo continued to frown at his phone, running through his contacts list, photos, music…
“What?” Dee leaned forward across the table, grinning at his lover.
Ryo blushed. “Just checking this really is my phone and I didn’t somehow pick up someone else’s by mistake. She seemed so sure she had the right number.”
