FAKE Triple Drabble: Bitten

A/N: Triple drabble.
“There should be a law against mosquitoes!” Dee snarled, scratching around one of several large, angry looking spots that peppered his arms, face, and neck, trying to get some relief from the incessant itching.
“Not sure how you’d enforce it.” Ryo sounded dubious as he dabbed cooling calamine lotion on some of his own spots. “It’s not like you can put up signs saying ‘Mosquitoes not allowed’ or something. They’re insects; they go wherever they want whenever they want.”
“And they bite whoever they want. Dammit, I just wanna stop itchin’!”
“You’re not the only one.” Ryo kept dabbing at his spots, but the lotion didn’t seem to be helping much.
“This is the thanks we get for doin’ our jobs,” Dee grumbled, turning his attention to scratching around a different spot. “We get eaten alive!”
It had been their bad luck that their latest investigation had taken them to a body dump just a few yards from several rusting barrels full of stagnant water, the perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes. The whole time they’d been there had been spent swatting at the insects, but despite squashing dozens of them they’d still been bitten to glory.
“It’s such a wet summer we should probably start carrying insect repellent around with us,” Ryo said, pouring more calamine onto the already sodden cotton ball he was using.
“Does that stuff work?”
Ryo paused his dabbing. “Are you talking about the calamine or the insect repellent?”
“The repellent.”
“Should do. Most of the time anyway.”
“’Cause I’ll happily bathe in the stuff if it keeps me from gettin’ bitten like this.” Dee scratched some more.
“You really shouldn’t scratch.”
“I know, but it’s drivin’ me crazy! If I still itch this much tomorrow, I’m gonna call in sick. No way I can concentrate.”
