Yeah. She put up with alot because of her then crush.

I think she was already used to putting up with a lot because of her family situation. She was the oldest daughter, used to smoothing things over and just dealing with everything.

The whole interaction with her family over the phone in "Smith and Jones" proved that point. Martha just wanted a time out from all of that.

Exactly. She took the opportunity the Doctor offered and she really grew as a person during her travels with him. She gained confidence and self belief.
